Yes and No...
Yes, we will offer all the help and answer all your questions we can. However, the quality of your models will depend on just how much time and effort you put into them. In short, the more you build, the better you get.

Absolutely! We encourage parents to bring their kids who have an interest in the hobby to the meetings.

We would suggest you attend a few meetings to see if Metro is right for you. However, participation in club activities (model contests, and voting) requires that you become a member. We encourage all our visitors to become members of IPMS/Metro.

IPMS/USA is the national organization in which Metro is a chartered chapter. You are not required to join the national organization to be a member of Metro. However, we encourage all our members to become IPMS/USA members by offering a once-a-year opportunity to join IPMS/USA for half price. IPMS/USA is a wonderful Society of modelers who share the same interests in modeling as you do. The Society also offers a first rate publication that anyone who builds models will find useful.

We meet the second Saturday of each month at the 45th Infantry Museum at 10:30 AM. We usually break up around noon, but we are not limited by any time restraints.
Checkout the Map & Directions page for all the information regarding where and when we meet.

We strive to keep building models and sharing techniques as the dominant subject of every meeting. We try to keep club business to a minimum, but there are some things that must be dealt with. We keep this to a minimum and let the club officers handle most of that. Business regarding club activities will be kept among those in charge of those areas. All members are free to attend those meetings if they so desire.

We encourage our members to put on demonstrations and slide shows
showing the techniques they use to build models. We also have digital slide shows from time to time of model contests our members have attended. The 45th Infantry Museum allows us to meet in thier theatre and Metro owns a digital projector so we can show DVD movies and digital slide shows.
If you wish to do a demo for our chapter, please contact the VP and he will put you on the schedule.

NO!
We have an unspoken rule against offering any criticism of anyone's models unless they specifically ask for it. IF you ask for criticism, only CONSTRUCTIVE criticism will be offered along with suggestions to improve your techniques. We want your experience with IPMS Metro to be pleasant and positive with no intimidation. Anyone (member or not) who violates this unspoken rule will be dealt with accordingly.
